If you're still looking for a summer camp experience for your child, take a look at our Newest Camp Program, Focused Fun @ Muskatawa! Kids will still enjoy a beautiful week long experience right on the shores of the Kennebunk Pond in Lyman, Maine. A magnificent private property made available exclusively for the Sanford-Springvale YMCA. Focused Fun allows each camper to select their area of interest that they will focus on the whole week. Kids can sign up for Alluring Art Camp, Creative Minds Camp and The Great Outdoors Camp. Each camp will go in-depth with the specific subject chosen.

Our camp programs take great pride in the staff team we bring together each year. Using a cross section of our YMCA childcare professionals and highly motivated local talent we build a staff team that is highly trained, highly engaged, and widely admired by both campers and their families.

Our Beautiful Facilities

Our camp facilities are some of the very best in Southern Maine. Each camp is located in an environment designed for each camper to achieve absolute success. Each camp location was chosen to best meet the developmental needs of all campers. All camp facilities provide campers with adequate opportunity to challenge themselves and take on new challenges, while being safe and supported by peers and camp staff.

Our Whole Child Approach

Each of our camp programs has been designed with the "whole child" at the forefront of every decision we make. We pride ourselves on enriching and enhancing the lives of each camper who spends time with us each summer. Some campers choose to spend the entire summer with us and others just a week or two. Regardless, we make every effort to ensure the time spent with us is some of the best each child will experience all summer.

Our Camps

Mini Marland - Mini Marland is located on the beautiful campus of our YMCA. This wooded in-town camp location allows us the opportunity to engage young campers in a traditional camp setting surrounded by trees and along the shores of the Mousam river. This location provides all the feels of a deep woods Maine camp with the safety and security of our YMCA nearby if needed for inclement weather or extreme heat.

Big Marland - Big Marland is located on over 30 acres of wooded shoreline along Bunganut Lake in Lyman. Campers are offered the opportunity to engage in all the traditional day camp activities including art exploration, hiking, sports and games, archery, canoeing, and more. The close proximity to our YMCA allows us to ability to maximize our time on campus at Bunganut Lake Park in Lyman and surround campers with the beauty of the great Maine woods.

Focused Fun @ Muscatawa - Focused Fun @ Muscatawa is located on a private waterfront property on the shores of Kennebunk Pond in Lyman. This new camp facility is provided by a new partnership with the owner of the former boy scout camp, Muscatawa. This partnership had given us the opportunity to offer program specific camps where campers can focus on one area of interest for an entire week. The camp facilities include a private waterfront, miles of hiking trails, open fields, former boy scout camp buildings, indoor shelters for focused work and learning, and opportunities to get out of inclement weather or extreme heat if needed.

Focused Fun Sports Camp - Focused Fun Sports Camps are 1/2 camp opportunities for campers looking to focus on the development of their individual skills in either basketball or soccer. Using the open fields and courts at our YMCA we will be able to provide campers the opportunity to spend time this summer working their individual skills to further enhance their soccer or basketball skills. These half day camps will include the opportunity to swim in the Y pool following each camp session.

The YMCA is the largest provider of summer camp services in the country and we are honored you have chosen us to provide this experience for your family. We take an incredible amount of pride in our work, and strive to provide the highest quality camp experience we can. Our summer camp programs serve more than 250 children each summer with a safe, engaging, and nurturing summer camp experience. At the YMCA we are for healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development. These areas of focus come through in our work as we plan camp programs with the best interest of our campers and community in the forefront of our mind. The YMCA has four core values, caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility that we hold our staff, volunteers, and program participants accountable to. These values are the framework of our program, disciplinary philosophy, and approach to engaging with the individuals who participate in our program. For over 50 years our YMCA has offered our trademark summer day camp, Camp Marland. Camp Marland will continue to be a high quality day camp offering campers the opportunity to engage in a variety of fun activities where they can learn new skills, further develop the skills they already have, and develop amazing friendships along the way. We are so excited to see the amazing smiles of our returning campers and meet new friends who will be joining us for the first time this year. I am incredibly excited to have the opportunity to expand our camp programming again this summer by offering the second year of our "Focused Fun"summer camp series. Our Focused Fun series of camp programming is designed for those campers who want to fully engage in an area of interest for an entire week. These focused camps will allow campers the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a particular hobby, area of passion, sport, or take an opportunity to really dive into something new or that they have wanted to try.
