The Y Owls Preschool program is about to take flight as it transitions into the Sanford-Springvale YMCA Early Learning Center this October.
The new Early Learning Center will offer a 2,440 square foot newly renovated program environment, more than doubling the current Y Owls Preschool space. The customized, larger classroom space will provide enhancements such as designated music, technology, literacy, art and dramatic play centers.
Children will learn, grow, and thrive by engaging in activities such as swimming, creative art projects, music and movement activities, story time, and outdoor play, as well as regular field trips and weekly excursions to the local library for “read and romp” time. The program is designed to support the scheduling needs of all families by providing year round, quality care from 6 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday.
“A key component to a quality early childhood education program is the learning environment,” said Matt Ouellette, Youth and Family Services Director.
“We are very excited to share our newly renovated, larger classroom environment with young learners to provide them with the foundation they need for a successful educational journey,” he added.
Other highlights of the new Early Learning Center will include private playground access, access to additional newly renovated play space, and exclusive access for parents through an independent entrance for increased security.
The Y is currently accepting registrations with limited enrollment opportunities. On November 4th from 10 am to noon the Y will host a grand opening celebration of the new Early Learning Center. The community is invited to come tour the new space, meet teachers, and learn more about the curriculum.
